Midwest Book Review, 2007

Miss Ann's Art is an impressive compilation of paintings, stories and poems by Ann Barnes created over many years and reflecting aviation history, Christian inspiration, and family activities. The artworks are museum quality. The stories are heartfelt and engaging. The poetry is superbly crafted. The combinations laid out in the pages of "Miss Ann's Art" are thoughtful and thought-provoking, inspirational and inspiring, engaging and entertaining, and taken all together, and enduring memorial to a life carefully observed, thoughtfully reflected, expertly referenced, well observed, and fully lived. Miss Ann's Art is very highly recommended reading and an especially appropriate choice for community library Memorial Fund acquisitions.

Midwest Book Review, 2008

Art is not just paintings - beautiful imagery and thought can be woven with my different mediums. Miss Ann's Art is a collection of Ann Barnes' artistic endeavors, choosing to focus on a very patriotic and Christian outlook through the poems, prose, and reflections, and oil paintings throughout this beautifully compiled coffee table book. Miss Ann's Art is highly recommended for community library art and Christian collections.

Ann, I read and enjoyed your inspiring writings and paintings in MISS ANN'S ART. You honor the family, children, nuptial love, veterans and country in a day so needy for such emphases and you do it with such beauty and sensitivity. I am honored to be able to call you my friend.

Dear Ann,
The gifts God gave you are not only to be admired on canvas, but richly consumed by the heart. You reach every generation with the message of goodness and Hope. FOX News has me on the road, doing what I love to do, interviewing patriotic Americans from all branches of the armed forces. It is those that deserve our neverending praise and gratitude.

A Special Review and Honor
From Rear Admiral Jeremiah A. Denton, Jr.

Ann, here is my commentary on your brief but remarkable book, My Christ is From Heaven.

This book has many edifying features, but the particular feature which informed and edified me the most was the stress it placed on the subject of Jesus' actual nature and origin. He is not, as I and perhaps many others have vaguely imagined, a grandson of Abraham. His Mother Mary was descended from Abraham but He was not.

He is the Son of God and Mary's womb was not inseminated by Joseph or any other man. The Christ child was placed in her womb by the Holy Spirit, thus He was not a real descendant of Abraham or any other human creature of God. He is The Divine Son of the Triune God, the first person of the Holy Trinity. God the Father Willed that His Son would assume human nature to endure the incredible suffering climaxed by the crucifixion in order to redeem the sins of all mankind---this by the Will of God, The Father, and the third person, The Holy Spirit, miraculously incorporated Him in the womb of Mary.

Ann's brilliant expression of that clarification, in addition to her art and other prose in the book, earns her a high place among all those, including the Apostles and the Doctors of the Church in spreading the understanding of the most significant factor in the history of eternity.
